“GOOD IMAGES ARE NOT ENOUGH FOR ME .
I WANT & NEED AMAZING!!!!.”
Here’s how I get there….
PRE-SHOOT INTERVIEW:
Before the session I prefer a brief phone call with my clients to understand their goals for the images. Who is their audience? How will the photos be used? Where will they be placed (website, social media, books, cd, online dating site, bio page etc.)?
I also ask them to send me a mix of previous photos they have had taken (candid, professional, etc.) so that I can get a sense of what direction, location and clothing choices that I feel will work for them best..
Finally I give my clients a list of clothing to bring with them to the shoot. I send an informative email of how colors, textures and styles will tell a visual story in the photographs I am going to take. On camera STYLING is a specialty of mine therefor , several choices of clothing are best.
THE DAY OF THE SHOOT:
I arrive early at the client’s home or place of business (studio if necessary) and select 2-3 items of clothing I think will work best for the goal of the shoot. I take into consideration what enhances their eyes , hair color and skin tone. I also have an excellent team of hair, makeup & grooming professionals that I’ve worked with for many years and who are available at an additional cost.
The typical stuffy business headshot is out of fashion. Today, environmental portraiture takes place in a more relaxed environment and visually communicates WHO YOU ARE. I know that many people dislike having their photograph taken, that’s why I am committed to making the shoot FUN! I give lots of direction about how I want the person to sit, stand, tilt their head, move their shoulders to look GREAT. My promise is that we won’t stop shooting until we get that illusive “IT”. I want my clients to have as many choices as possible in the final photographs.
POST SHOOT:
I will narrow it down to the final images from the shoot and load them up in a private password protected online gallery. From there the clients are free to use any or all of the images.
I guide the client in which images will work best for different mediums such as the web, magazines, books, flyers, etc. I then finalize and enhance (retouch) one chosen image per “LOOK”. Additional images can be retouched upon request. I can also adjust the same image so that it is usable in different mediums. In most cases you will get a disk or thumb drive in snail mail to do with as you wish.
